Chief Michael Feinberg was appointed chief of the Nahant Fire Department in February 2016, following a career as an EMT, paramedic and firefighter.
He began his career as an EMT in 1983 and became a paramedic in 1988. He started in the fire service in 2000 as a call firefighter in Lynnfield, where he also established the department’s EMS operations.
Chief Feinberg joined the Amesbury Fire Department in 2003 as a full-time firefighter, and returned to Lynnfield as a fire captain.
He holds an associates degree in fire science from North Shore Community College, a bachelors degrees in fire science administration from Salem State University and general science from Brandeis University, as well as a masters degree in safety, security and emergency management — with concentrations in fire and emergency services and emergency management — from Eastern Kentucky University.
Chief Feinberg also represents Fire District 5 on the Fire Chiefs Association of Massachusetts’ Board of Directors.
